If your unit has an earlier * * version of firmware, please contact the factory * * at 425-775-8461 for an eprom upgrade. * * * ********************************************************* Please refer to the AudioControl Director Model 46 installation manual for additional instructions on uploading new source IR control codes into the Director. Installing External IR codes in The Director Model 46 1. If the Director already has firmware version 3.03 or higher, skip to step 7. To determine the firmware version in your Director; open the programming menu of the Director using the Telix software from the Installation Kit. The version number will display in the upper left hand corner of all Director programming screens. 2. Unplug the power cord of the Director. 3. Remove the six (6) front panel screws of the Director. 4. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, remove the firmware eprom taking care not to bend the legs of the eprom. 5. Plug the upgrade eprom into the socket noted in the above drawing. Make certain that the pin 1 notch on the eprom goes away from the front panel. 6. Reinstall the front panel of the Director. 7. Refer to the table below for information regarding the IR files. This tells you which files to download into the Director for your source units. Many manufacturers use the same IR codes for multiple units in their product line. If your specific model isn't mentioned, try the code of a similar unit from the same manufacturer. 8. Make a note with the names of the four IR files you need from the AudioControl IR library disk. 9. Connect your computer to the Director and start the Telix terminal program included in the Director installation kit. 10. Press the Program button on the rear of the Director "In". 11. Press the Space Bar to enter the Main Menu of the Director. 12. Select menu item 4) Configure Sources on the Director. 13. Select menu item 7) Download new IR code on the sources menu. 14. Select the source channel (1-4) to download the new IR code into. 15. When prompted to begin download press the Page Up key on your PC. 16. Select the Z Modem protocol. 17. Enter the path name to the location of the IR Codes on your PC. (for example: A:\ if you are using the floppy drive of your computer) 18. Press the Tab key to highlight the file list box. 19. Use the arrow keys on your PC keyboard to highlight the file name for the IR Code you wish to download. Press Enter to select the file. 20. The IR Code file should show in the central Tagged Files list box. Note: Only ONE file name should be listed in this file box. 21. Press the F10 key to download this file into the Director. 22. Once Telix shows that the file upload is complete, you may select the next source channel to load an IR Code file to. 23. Repeat steps 13-21 until all sources are configured. 24. When you are finished downloading the new IR codes into the Director, you should select menu 1) Edit Machine Control Function Assignments for each of the four sources to make certain any special functions you may need are assigned to the 16 machine commands you will be using in the station macro programming. 25. Congratulations! The AudioControl Director Model 46 is now configured to operate with your system's source units. ********************************************************* AudioControl has done it's best to ensure the accuracy of these IR codes.
